I posted a tweet on Friday to help a friend raise money for Cancer, it is a serious charity and allows the people raising money to have some fun rappelling off a 31 story building in Denver if they raise at least $1,000 by Friday, July 20. I was surprised that as of Sunday morning no one had donated and there were very few clicks on the link. I have 45,000+ twitter followers, granted many are probably bots and spammers, but I know there are many real people and many good people. I figured at least a few bucks would come in…. *UPDATE* The goal of $1,000 has been met due to the generosity of readers, THANK YOU!! I have changed the link to a spot for me to raise money and participate in the rappel, click the site to see additional incentives to help a good cause.

A few of you have commented about my “creepy bobble head avatar”

So I decided that we can make this a WIN/WIN situation!

For anyone who donates $100 or more I will change my twitter avatar for 48 hours to whatever (within reason, I will work with winners) you want it to be. After we have cycled through the submissions, I will revert to my pre-bobble avatar! Simply send in the donation (put AT in the comment section of the donation page) and then forward your receipt to alphatrends (at) gmail dot com along with a picture you would like to be the avatar.

I also receive a LOT of “thank you’s” for the free work I share on Alphatrends. If you really want to show your appreciation beyond words then DONATE HERE and thank YOU for valuing my work!

Unique to non-profits, Cancer League of Colorado has no paid staff and no offices. All operating expenses are covered by membership dues and our volunteer staff. Cancer League of Colorado now has more than 400 volunteer members who share the commitment to fight cancer and support cancer research. 100% of all donations go directly to cancer research and cancer patient services in the state of Colorado. Since 1985, Cancer League has donated over $10 million in grants toward cancer research and services.

Simply raise a minimum of $1000 in pledges and rappel down one of Denver’s most prominent skyscrapers–1600 Glenarm Place Luxury Apartments. Whether you are an accomplished climber or a first time rappeller whose only use of a carabiner is as a keychain, this event is a thrill of a lifetime. An exclusive event for Cancer League of Colorado, Over the Edge gives participants a life-changing opportunity to rappel 31 stories while raising money for cancer research.
